The session will be held at the church of Our Lady of Dolours, Sevites Church, 264, Fulham Road, SW10 9EL. We will introduce to the Candidates the Sacraments of Baptism and Confession through the figure of Blessed Carlo Acutis. We will see the place where Blessed Carlo was baptised and venerate his relic.
6.15 pm - 6.30 pm: Welcome the candidates, show them to the meeting room, check that laptop and projector are set up and complete the register of presences.
6.30-7.15 pm: Session about baptism and confession.
7.15 pm-7.30 pm: Going to church, look at the baptistery where Blessed Carlo Acutis was baptised. Speak about Blessed Carlo as an inspirational model for the candidates.
Veneration of the relic invites the candidates to pray and ask for a grace through the intercession of Blessed Carlo. Show to them the confessional box. Finish by encouraging the candidates to seek and attend the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Easter Break, especially before Easter.

Confirmation Session Monday, 13th March 2023
This evening's session will focus on the sacraments' importance and power. The objectives of the session are:
- To explain that God created us to share in his divine life and gave us the sacraments to impart that grace to us (see Philippians 4:13; CCC 1131, 1992). Sacraments are actions of God in our lives—giving us the power to live “life to the full” (John 10:10, NIV). But like any gift or grace, we need to receive the sacraments with “well-disposed hearts” (CCC 1133) for them to affect our lives.
- To understand that “the sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us” (CCC 1131). They remind us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves—the universal Church and Body of Christ. Each of us has a job to do, and each of us has a gift to share (see CCC 791).
- To give to the candidates an overview of the seven sacraments. There are three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist); two of Healing (Confession and the Anointing of the Sick); and two of Service (Matrimony and Holy Orders), which the catechism refers to as “sacraments at the service of communion” (CCC 1211). The Sacraments of Service are also sometimes called “sacraments of vocation.”

This year we are using the programme Chosen designed by Ascension Press as a platform for our Confirmation Course.
