HCPT is a national charity organising pilgrimages to Lourdes for disabled and disadvantaged children and adults.
HCPT is trying to get the word out into the community about their pilgrimages. They’ll be offering a one hour introduction to their work on 12th July at 6pm here at OLV so you can see it first hand. You’d meet the real visionary there, the Chief Executive, and some of the great volunteers and staff. You wouldn’t be asked to make any financial contribution, but HCPT would call you once afterwards to ask for your feedback.
Please let Mgr Jim know if you’d like to attend.
Today is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a second collection for Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church.
It provides practical and spiritual support to seafarers visiting our ports.
As it is dependent on voluntary donations, please give generously.
For more information about its work visit: www.apostleshipofthesea.org.uk
We welcome Deacon Roger who will be speaking at all Masses
Many parishioners are leaving for the summer, some are leaving the parish for pastures new, we wish you all well.
Loving Father, during this time of rest and relaxation, please repair in me whatever is broken, and revive my drooping spirit.
Let this vacation be a graced time of recollection and rejuvenation, of deeper self-awareness and eager self-giving. May it be an occasion of refreshment and reinvigoration-a time to reclaim my friendship with Jesus Christ, who is our Lord now and for ever. Amen
In particular we thank Bénédicte Dubarry for her wonderful help in the parish office. Bénédicte with her endless patience and good humour added a sense of flair to our office team, we will miss her. We wish her husband Charles and her every blessing and say Merci.
