Are you interested in social outreach?
Caritas Westminster, the Diocesan social action agency, is looking for Caritas Representatives to help record local poverty and social-exclusion projects across different areas of the Diocese. The representatives would also work closely with the Caritas development workers to help respond to those in need in the local area.
Please contact Caritas Westminster at email@example.com to register your interest.
A small temporary organ is now installed in the Church.
This week, our pipe organ will be dismantled and taken to the workshop of
Skrabl Organ Builders. Old pipes will be refurbished and new pipes created.
We hope our new organ will be back for Christmas.
The Parish has been able to claim £53,147.19 in tax refunds from HMRC, through the gift aid scheme in respect of the tax year 2017/18.
This has been made possible by parishioners kindly agreeing to gift aid their donations to the parish. Thank you.
If you are a UK taxpayer and have not already done so, please consider gift aiding your donations to the parish. At no additional cost to yourself, the parish will be able to claim a refund of 25p on every £1 donated.
Contact the parish office for more information.
If you wish to have someone remembered at Mass, intentions are available during
both the 7.30 am and 10 am Masses. The recommended stipend is £10.
A large thank you to all who helped organise the mass and party
last Saturday evening. It was a beautiful occasion,
which, for me at least, was filled with gratitude and love.
It was so good to see many friends there.
As I said in my little speech, Our Lady of Victories is a special place,
where humour, holiness and mutual love are so much in evidence.
Thank you also, for the generous cards and gifts which I received over the past few weeks and also at the party which followed the mass.
There are too many people to thank individually here, but you know who you are.
You all remain in my prayers, and I hope to see you before too long.
May God bless you all. Father Daniel.
On Family Fast Day, CAFOD invites us to share in the abundance that God has given us. We are asked to fast, pray and give.
On Family Fast Day (Friday 5 October), CAFOD invites us to eat simply – perhaps having a bowl of soup instead of a meal.
Please collect your Fast Day envelope from the church this week and give what you can.
