On Saturday, 29 June, at 12 noon, starting with Angelus and Mass in Our Lady of Mt Carmel & St Simon Stock. The procession of reparation to Our Lady of Victories will be at 4.30 pm.
Last week, Our Lady of Victories parishioners donated 250 kg of unwanted clothing to Mary’s Meals. With an additional cash donation of £1462.51, the grand total is £1602.51.
Your contribution will feed 115 children one good nutritious meal every school day for a whole year. This is an excellent result, and Mary’s Meals wish to thank everyone who contributed.
The 2nd of July this year marks the 150th anniversary of the opening of the original Church of Our Lady of Victories on the Kensington High Street site. To mark the occasion, we will celebrate Mass on Sunday, 7 July at 11 am with Cardinal Vincent Nichols.
Please Note: There will be no 10.30 am or 12 noon Mass that day.
Sea Sunday is the day when we pray for all those who live and work at sea. On 14th July, there will be a second collection for Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church, which provides practical and spiritual support for more than one million seafarers arriving in our ports each year.
As it is dependent on voluntary donations, your generosity is greatly appreciated. For more information about the agency’s work, visit www.apostleshipofthesea.org.uk.
Are you interested in social outreach?
Caritas Westminster, the Diocesan social action agency, is looking for Caritas Representatives to help record local poverty and social-exclusion projects across different areas of the Diocese. The representatives would also work closely with the Caritas development workers to help respond to those in need in the local area.
Please contact Caritas Westminster at firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
A small temporary organ is now installed in the Church.
This week, our pipe organ will be dismantled and taken to the workshop of
Skrabl Organ Builders. Old pipes will be refurbished and new pipes created.
We hope our new organ will be back for Christmas.
