Fr Nigel Woollen Day with Mary Homily
Dear Friends and Parishioners,
My heartfelt thanks to you all. It was a joy to see so many of you at the episcopal ordination. Also last weekend to be able to celebrate Mass for and with you. I have been Parish Priest of Our Lady of Victories for 16 years. These years have been among the happiest of my priestly life. We have shared in each other’s  joys, sorrows, and challenges. We have become friends too. My new duties will involve me visiting parishes, schools, prisons and hospitals  in West London and in other parts of the Diocese of Westminster when required. I will miss our parish life.

The good news is that the Cardinal has appointed Fr Nigel Woollen as the new parish priest from September 2024. Fr Woollen is currently an assistant priest in the Stevenage parishes in Hertfordshire.  I know you will give him a warm welcome.

In the meanwhile I will remain as ‘Parish Priest’. In this I am assisted  by Fr Francis, Rachel our parish administrator and Paul Hewitt, who will be ordained a deacon on July 6th. Fr Francis celebrated his  first anniversary of ordination on 24th June. What a year he has had.

Thank you again for your faith, trust and friendship. As the summer holidays approach many of you will be travelling and some of you moving from the parish; to new assignments, schools and parishes.
We continue to hold each other in our prayer, affection, and care.
+ Jim

Sea Sunday 14th July
Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all of our lives, but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions. It is when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Your support will make a big difference to seafarers and fishers in need. You can donate in Church, by visiting www.stellamaris.org.uk/donate, or by texting ‘SEA’ to 70460 to donate £5. This collection is vital to enable Stella Maris to continue its important work, so please give generously. Thank you.

Pope Saint John Paull II urged everyone to join in the  'great prayer for life'.

Cardinal Vincent Nichols will lead the pilgrimage. This years theme is ‘ Be it done unto me according to thy word’. Pilgrimage date: Saturday 21st September 2024. For more information please contact the parish Office.

OLOV LATEST NEWS

GIFT AID DONATIONS:

Dear Parishioners:

We have worked with our colleagues in the Parish Support Team towards procedures for processing the Gift Aid from contactless donations through the Dona provider.

When signing a Gift Aid declaration on the device, you will also be asked if you would like your previous contactless donations to be Gift Aided.

Further, as entering a Gift Aid declaration on the device can take a couple of minutes, we want to help reduce the amount of time you may spend on the device, and reduce the queue for it. Leaflets have been created and placed at the back of the church and on the notice board. These contain a QR code that will enable you to use your smartphone to make your Gift Aid declaration. You can also access the Dona portal and leave your donation by simply scanning the underneath QR code:

You can also donate securely by debit or credit card by clicking on the button created at the section end.
