Fr Nigel writes...

Dear parishioners and friends,
I remember once visiting Our Lady of Victories briefly - 6 or 7 years ago - and thinking, Wow, this looks like a big parish, working here would be a challenge! So I was more than surprised when Cardinal Vincent appointed me as your new Parish Priest, to succeed Bishop Jim Curry, a hard act to follow indeed.

I was born in Barnet and attended Catholic schools in Whetstone and Finchley, in north London. After studying maths at Leeds University and working at the Post Office in London, I moved to France and was ordained a priest in the church of St John Vianney (Curé of Ars) in 1996. Following various ministries in France and Italy, I served at Knock Shrine in Ireland for 15 years, before returning to London in 2018 for family reasons. After 5 very blessed years in a parish in Stevenage (north Hertfordshire), I’m very much looking forward to serving the parish community here in Kensington.

We all need each other, everyone matters. May Our Lady guide us to her Son Jesus, and may we grow together to witness ever more deeply to God’s love for those we meet. May God bless you and your loved ones - hope meet you soon!
Fr Nigel Woollen
Dear Friends,
I know you will give Fr Nigel Woollen a warm welcome; as you did to me some 16 years ago. You will  find Fr Nigel to be a faithful pastor, man of prayer and good humour.
Thank you for our time together in the service of the Lord. I know I can count on your prayers as I take up fully my responsibility as the auxiliary Bishop with pastoral oversight of the parishes in West London.  Be assured of mine.
Bishop Jim Curry
Congratulations
To Ines and Paul who were married in Madrid on 20th July; to Daria and Mihai who married in Poland on 27th July; to Aimee and Tom who were married here at OLV on 3rd August, and to Geoffroy and Aree who were married in Normandy on 24th August.
We wish you all the blessings of married life.
