'Today we pray especially for all who have suffered abuse, as children or as vulnerable adults, and carry its scars throughout their lives. Many of their stories are told in the IICSA Report. We pray for them in the pain they bear.
We pray too for courage and guidance for our bishops and religious leaders, and for those who work in Safeguarding, that the responses we give will be just and healing. We ask pardon for those past responses that now are seen to have been so inadequate.
We place before the Lord this brokenness which marks so many lives and the life of the Church.’
See and listen to the Cardinal's message here.
We pray for us bishops as they consider these matters during their meeting next week. We pray for our Cardinal too and for each other in these difficult days
As the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh intensifies we pray for a just an peaceful resolution.
Our Lady of Victories, pray for us.
Your invitation to Stella Maris live-streamed Centenary Mass (Sunday 4th October at 3pm)
This year Catholic charity Stella Maris (formerly known as Apostleship of the Sea) is celebrating 100 years of its support to seafarers, fishers, and their families. To mark the beginning of our centenary year we will be holding a live-streamed Mass celebrated by Archbishop Philip Tartaglia of Glasgow. We would be most grateful if you could kindly invite your parishioners, through your parish newsletter and e-newsletter this coming weekend, to join us online to share in this very special celebration on Sunday 4th October 4th at 3pm. The Mass will be streamed live at www.stellamaris.org.uk/centenarymass We hope that you and some of your parishioners can join us online for this historic occasion.
