River deep and mountain high

Dear parishioners and friends,

The Holy Spirit has been at work, for all eternity.
At the moment of creation, breathing over the chaos to bring order.
Breathing life into the human soul. Raising Christ Jesus from the dead and empowering the early Church.

 The Holy Spirit is
in every breath we take, every move we make.
 River deep and mountain high.

The spirit is the very breath of God in us.
The energy that sustains the believer.
The power that enables the Church to communicate the message of salvation.
If we are forgetful of the Spirit; it is only because we take our breathing for granted.
Only when we find ourselves out of breath or find it hard to breathe we realise the gift we have.

Come Holy Spirit enlighten our minds,
warm our hearts and renew our purpose.
Amen.

Mgr Jim

Untold Stories: The Holy Land and Us ~ What can we learn?

Join us for an interesting debate between Sarah Agha, co-presenter of the acclaimed BBC2 series and Dr Harry Hagopian, ecumenical consultant, international lawyer & analyst on the MENA & Gulf regions.

This event, moderated by Mgr James Curry, is inspired by the recently-acclaimed BBC2 documentary featuring Sarah Agha & Rob Rinder.  We hope to gain some insight into the Palestinian al-Nakba or the Great Catastrophe - the name given to the dramatic & multi-layered impact upon Palestinians following the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.

The documentary (in two 75-minute episodes) is available on BBC i-Player and can be accessed by clicking on the button below. You can also watch Dr Hagopian's take on the 2 narratives on his private YouTube channel also available below.

Where? Our Lady of Victories Parish Hall, entrance through the archway next to the clergy house. 16 Abingon Road, W8 6AF
When? Tuesday, May 30th, 7-8.30 PM.

All are welcome and admission is free, no ticket is needed. However, we ask you to register on Eventbrite by clicking on the button below to help us keep a tab on numbers.

Symposium marking the 400th anniversary of the birth of St Oliver Plunkett in 2025

On Saturday 10th June at St Wifrid's Hall at the Oratory in South Kensington, a symposium is being organised by the curator of the Irish national shrine, Tommy Burns, in anticipation of the 400th anniversary of the birth of St Oliver Plunkett in 2025.

On the day various speakers will be considering the witness and intercessory role of St Oliver for the world today, particularly in the light of his place within the European tradition of Catholic life in the 17th century. St Oliver was the last of those martyred for the Catholic Faith in England, he was the only Irishman to give his life on English soil and he was the only Archbishop.

His life is a noble and heroic testimony to a deep love for the Catholic Church and an inspiring example for today's world and the challenges facing those following the Gospel in our times. For booking and reserving your place to the seminary please click on the button below.

OLOV LATEST NEWS

GIFT AID DONATIONS:

Dear Parishioners:

We have worked with our colleagues in the Parish Support Team towards procedures for processing the Gift Aid from contactless donations through the Dona provider.

When signing a Gift Aid declaration on the device, you will also be asked if you would like your previous contactless donations to be Gift Aided.

Further, as entering a Gift Aid declaration on the device can take a couple of minutes, we want to help reduce the amount of time you may spend on the device, and reduce the queue for it. Leaflets have been created and placed at the back of the church and on the notice board. These contain a QR code that will enable you to use your smartphone to make your Gift Aid declaration. You can also access the Dona portal and leave your donation by simply scanning the underneath QR code:

You can also donate securely by debit or credit card by clicking on the button created at the section end.
